چکیده

Gene therapy is a technique that currently under expansion and development. Recent advances in genetic medicine have paved the way for broader range of therapies laid groundwork next-generation technologies. A terminally substituted difluorene-diester Schiff Base calix[4]arene has been studied this work as possible nanovector to be used gene therapy. Changes luminescent behavior calixarene macrocycle are reported presence ct-DNA. The interacts with calf thymus DNA (ct-DNA), generating changes its conformation. Partial double-strand denaturation induced at low concentrations calixarene, resulting compaction However, interaction between molecules themselves takes place high concentrations, favoring decompaction polynucleotide. Based on cytotoxicity studies, investigated potential nanovehicle improve therapeutic efficacy pharmacological agents against tumors.

Calixmexitil: Calixarene-based Cluster of Mexiletine with Amplified Anti-myotonic Activity as A Novel Use-dependent Sodium Channel Blocker

Mexiletine as the first choice drug in myotonia treatment is a chiral sodium channel blocker clinically used in its racemic form. The phenolic structure of this drug, prompted us to design its novel calix[4]arene-based cluster in a chalice-shaped structure. Therefore, the present study reports the synthesis and in-vitro anti-myotonic activity of the chalice-shaped cluster of mexiletine...

Gold nanoparticles: calixarene complexation in a mixed calixarene–alkanethiol monolayer†

This paper describes a detailed study on the complexation of pyridinium derivatives with calixarenes bound to gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The studied calixarene derivatives are mixed with alkanethiols to formmixed monolayers on AuNP surfaces. The key findings are: (i) even a small amount (less than 11 mol%) of calixarenes can retain their complexation abilities among a majority of alkanethiols ...
